The funny part about this is that the Marines forced the change from the M-16A1, which was fully Auto to the A2 which had the 3 round burst (among other changes). I was in the Army at the time and if I remember correctly the reason for the 3 round burst was that Marines couldn’t hit the target accurately under full Auto. Of course, later on all the Services made the change to the A2 and we lost full Auto capability also. I was not happy to lose the full Auto capability.
It’s funny that the Marines now want to bring it back.

What a bunch of crap; both the article and the video that it links to. That stuff sounds like it came from a video game instead of over 100 years of testing and experience that belies what is stated in both the video and the article.
