@PO1 William "Chip" Nagel: My father was a Lieutenant in the Navy. His ashes were buried at sea; off of his Submarine. -Love, Margaret

SPC Margaret Higgins On the Arkansas everytime we Set Sail it was with Several Urns for Burial at Sea. Since Our Birthing was next to the Chapel/Library the Chaplain would always borrow some of My Troops for the Ceremony.

SPC Margaret Higgins - I'm Just a Lowly E-6. Most I ever had working for me was Maybe a Dozen Sailors but they were the Best. Military? That was always debatable but they were the Most Skilled and that is what mattered to Me.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Sounds like you are high ranking to me. A Dozen Sailors is a lot. When I was a Squad Leader, I had about ten Squad members. -Love, Margaret

John Ford's "The Battle of Midway" (1942) Digitally Restored Color
This stirring documentary was directed & produced by four time Oscar winner John Ford during the intense June 4th Japanese carrier plane attacks on Midway Is...
I remember seeing recently the burials at Sea from the John Ford movie Midway done in 1942 where the PT boats are taking the bodies to be buried at Sea. Not to be confused with the cut and splice of Tora Tora Tora piece of crap that came out 1975 with Charlton Heston. We are talking about live footage where director Ford was on a tower overlooking the battle scene and it got blown around a lot..

I see the burial detail still uses the M14 rifle as the weapon of choice for the 21-gun salute.
