The Unofficial History of Memorial Day

Thank you, Shavonde. I’ve read a half dozen articles and short essays about Decoration Day before, but I was surprised to find this story was even still a bit different from the others. Memorial Day is still my favorite federal holiday for more reasons than all the others combined.
