Good story. Russia has been in self-destruct mode for years - since they got a taste of capitalism. Once the USSR ceased to exist they became a bit player with a lot of nukes - trying to eek out the former stature they once had, and will never have again. With Putin at the helm it has become a criminal enterprise with all the military trimmings. Any false narrative about Trump wanting to stabilize relations is a façade for business and commerce opportunities for those of wealth to capitalize on, nothing more. Thanks for sharing.

I would dare say that the United States isn't far behind, and one could make the same argument about most of the countries of Europe.

Corruption and degeneracy seem to be the norm today. Sadly, we are no better than they are.

Things that were so clear to us during the Cold War have now been completely inverted, and Russia stands for some, as the bearer of true Christian faith. An unbelievable development since 1991.

SSG Diane R. - Wouldn't argue that one bit. Extreme anything is not good. That's why it's called "extreme" vice plentiful or abundant, and extreme capitalism has the potential to be our undoing. We've seen through history how "let them eat cake" works out. Greed is not always good, no matter what Gordon Gecko says, and it is the prime mover in legislation, enterprise, and society in general. Watch the ads on TV and see all the luxury items. $60,000 engagement rings and $80,000 cars while we have soup kitchens and the erosion of the middle class. The "haves" and the "have nots" is not a sustainable system unless we revert to feudalism and fealty. The Romans found this out same as the rest. Contrary to popular narrative it is not all attributable to deadbeats on the public dole. No jobs means no money, means no tax revenue, means failing infrastructure, growing debt, diminished personal savings, civil unrest due to income inequality caused by measures beyond the public's control.....". We've already seen that things don't always trickle down and our pols need to wake up.
