The VA Is the Closest Thing We Have to Single Payer—Now Trump Wants to Privatize It

I'd say the title is misleading. I'd rephrase it to "The VA is the closest thing we have to socialized medicine". A true single payer system is simply having the government pay for all healthcare, while having the private sector deliver that care. Socialized medicine is a completely different healthcare delivery model where the government both pays for care and delivers the care directly through government-owned healthcare facilities.

With that being said, I agree with the main point of the article. Privatizing the VA is a bad move.
