In 1959 the original drummer when the Ventures had their first big Hit "Walk don't Run" was a 17 year old kid George Babbit, who left the Ventures and later entered the US Air Force and rose to the rank of General , 0-10, (Four Stars) and was Commander of the Air Force Material Command at Andrews AFB, MD before He retired from the USAF. The Ventures had Him back a few years ago and He did the drums again and was just as good playing as a General as He was as a 17 year old kid. Nookie Edwards, the Ventures Member that just died replaced George Babbit as George was too young to play the clubs and lounges.
