May be a little misleading or spun a little as anytime a dependent travels with an official family member or for an official family member it uses taxpayer dollars because it is done on govt aircraft or paid for by Govt dollars. If they travel across the state in a govt vehicle with protection it is at the expense of Taxpayer dollars. This isn't new...not right but not new. Members of the Sec Depts are required to use official travel for themselves and their dependents for security reasons. Michelle Obama used it for trips with her Mother and daughters, Laura bush did it with family trips, others and numerous senators/congressmen.

HOWEVER...it does seem a little fishy to me that the Wife of the Sec of Veterans Affairs is traveling in Europe...he has no need to be traveling in Europe in his capacity and she scertainly has no reason to be representing as far as I can tell so this may be a little fishy.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Yes I am sure it's a large spin on it. I do think the guy is doing a heck of a job for Veterans' despite what he is faced with. I have much respect for him based on a letter I wrote to him. I had a claim that was lingering and no answer for over 2 1/2 years. I wrote a letter to him and to my surprise he had the Regional Director of Veterans Affairs in Northern California contact me. I was shocked the claim was settled with back pay and I was awarded 100%. What had happen was they VA had misplaced the claim. Had I not contacted him I would still be waiting.

Peace!
