The words that help us understand the world

I was teaching a class on communications. In that class I presented the word "run". It had so many definitions no one could possibly know them all. There are 645 distinct meanings to the word run in verb form alone. That means if I use the word and ask the question "do you understand?", there are 644 possibilities you don't understand even though you say "yes"
