Vanguard 1 may continue to orbit the Earth for hundreds of years. A cool artifact from the early days of the space race when it was us against the dreaded commies (whom we were apparently supposed to kill for mommy).

Great post. The Cold War along with the Space Race were a time of many new inventions and technologies being discovered
