As long as it's the majority of constituents choosing the candidate they want representing them as opposed to wealthy donors and party's political committees selecting them...so be it. Otherwise, get rid of primaries, let the DNC, DCCC, RNC, and NRCC pick their candidates for the general elections. We could use a break from non-stop campaign ads.

Once upon a time the parties chose their Presidential candidates and we had much better choices in those days. Every since we began choosing candidates by popular elections, the choices have gotten progressively worse

I recall watching the DNC Convention in the summer of 2016. As each speaker or group made their way onto the stage I became aware they all had one thing in common. They all were victims (perceived or otherwise). If you're a victim to the harsh realities of life, the Democrats got your back. If your not a victim then obviously you are the cause.

Dems will have to dump identity politics to ever be relevant again. Policy and programs that work are more important to most voters.
