The airlines will still send it to Ankara, when you have flown to Anchorage.

Yep "follow me" onto and off the aircraft. Screw baggage claim.

Looks like it works great in an empty airport. Sadly, I've never traveled through empty airports

They exist. Even in the US. But yes most heavily trafficked terminals it wouldn't work. Notice it's not limited to airports though.
