That is interesting PO1 Tony Holland. to be honest I think I would prefer a fixed bayonet but the GripKnife would be useful in closed quarters where swing the weapon with bayonet fixed would be a problem.

The blade locks in place ready for use; to retract the blade, the user simply depresses a blade locking button and pushes the knife back into the base.
