CPO Amb. Terry Earthwind Nichols, It's difficult to say that if you are the one doing it on your watch.

I am finding, much to my dismay, that this is more common than I could have ever believed.

CSM (Join to see), I think that's because of the stigma that it's not really happening. Also, the women are afraid to say anything, if they want to make a career out of the military. But, if they are on a deployment, in a foreign country with a war going on, they are twice as afraid of saying anything. That's what I was told my my female friend at the VA.

This hero is a daughter, possibly a sister and definitely a role model for other women. She's also a victim of MY military's hoodlums who operate without fear because of lack of leadership in the chain of command. Accountability has always been a problem whether we like to think of it or not.

The fact remains, this person stood up like a REAL HERO and said NO! Instead of her Army standing beside her, they attacked her for not being a good "sex object" like she should.

Accountability comes from the top - CINC and flows downward. It does not... Officers and Senior Enlisted do not serve with integrity and therefore, their commands do not either.

NOW DON'T give me all of the exceptions as you were a good leader because so was I and that is NOT important here. What IS important here is taking supportive action with LOUD voices that we no longer accept this behavior.

REAL change will come when, and only when, Joints Chiefs lay down accountability from THEIR level down and no HEAD HUNTING to appease the public - REAL ACCOUNTABILITY resulting in a safer environment for all of our brothers and sisters in arms...

It's still the good old boys club. The leaders won't do anything because they are doing it too. If they allow charges of rape to go unanswered, they are part of the rape. Is there any NCO or Officer that has done the right thing and reported one of their troops has been sexually assaulted? All I hear is, the person raped, is booted out of the military for coming forward.
