This sophisticated phishing scam has the entire internet terrified

The reason why it's so sophisticated is because the actual app is called Google Docs. It's commonly used, especially across universities, for collaborative team projects. This scam is masquerading as the legitimate program, quite convincingly.

Also, Google has already responded to this threat, removing offending pages and disabling offending accounts. They are working hard at proactive security measures to prevent this type of abuse from happening again.
