This Was A Joke A Few Years Ago... Now It's Actually Happening

If only there was a scouting group that girls could join...

Could be my age or personal experiences, but I don't get it. I'll have plenty who'll disagree but I don't get it. Until we're in a culture like in Starship Troopers, I don't understand the point of a BSA that brings in girls, which guts the GSA. Why didn't the GSA push to be more aligned of work like it does with the BSA? If I get a new male Soldier who earned his Eagle Scout card, he gets to pin on PFC day one. There isn't an equivalent (that I'm aware of) for female Soldiers. Why can't the GSA push for that? Their version of an Eagle Scout?
