SGT (Join to see) Interesting how so much of our early history was tied around July 4th, isn't it? The best biographies of Jefferson that I've read are those by Alf Mapp: A Strange Case of Mistaken Identity and Passionate Pilgrim. Mapp eviscerates the politically correct versions of history surrounding Jefferson today (sadly IMHO with the help of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation). Highly recommended.
