As much as I support defense spending, there needs to be accounting to ensure the funds are spent wisely. With our forces small compared to the Cold War, yet we spend more. Overseas contingency funds (from my understanding) are not part of the defense budget, certainly inflation plays some part - but are we spending the money wisely?
