The plight of the VA is truly beyond comprehension, Sgt Wayne Wood. Everyone knows that the VA is a huge mess, everyone promises to fix it, yet it remains a catastrophe.
It reminds me of my time as a detailed IG. We were always seeking the root cause, with the Army always hoping that it was something systemic, that could be fixed with a change in regs or policy. All too often, the cause was a person.
With VA, I'm convinced that the root cause is people within VA. How many, I don't know. I do believe that the VA system would work significantly better if VA really looked within, cleaned house and filled VA with caring and competent employees.

Despite the actions taken, I doubt anyone has been fired. Reassigned means they have a job with no responsibilities. As I thought, the establishment wins.
