I am definitely a work in progress! Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! COL Mikel J. Burroughs, now that I'm in a new age bracket for how PT gets scored for me, I need to keep pushing myself to stay motivated. Lots of days I am motivated but there are a few that I'm not. WOrking, PTing or free time, I try and make the most of it!

Maj Marty Hogan - I do sprints and a leg, core and arm circuit workout twice a week now. 200-300 meter sprints followed by an exercise from each group and I repeat it until I've reached my goal of 1.5 miles. Takes about 70-90 minutes depending on how many repetitions I need to do. Yesterday was 300 meters and I timed my laps at around 62 seconds on average. It's what I did in Korea to help me out and it cut my run time down from 13 mins to 11 mins and waist down by 3 inches.

TSgt Joe C. - perfect bro. You got this- This is most likely going to be my last PT test in June. We have a command change this year and maybe that will change my long term, but as it stands 2019 might be my last and won't be required to test. I will test just because I am a runner- I will try for a 100 this year- missed it by 20 seconds running injured last year. Not bad for an old guy. Your plan is excellent and keep me posted here or on FB.

Push ups n sit ups are easy. My problem is I am a distamce runner and look for an over all pace over miles. Mile and a half is short and almost a sprint. I think my 100 is a 10:26. I know I can push 11 all day. It will be that 30 second brush off i have to conquer.

Great quotations on achievement and progress Colonel! The military demands excellence from each of us so we can meet our goals as a team. That is why I have always liked this quote from President Truman.
“It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.”
― Harry Truman

COL Mikel J. Burroughs: I Do beat myself up, Mikel; for not progressing quickly enough. I really have to work hard on my patience; in some situations. I am incredibly patient; when it comes to my: Singing, Photography, my Facebook groups, and, when it comes to my Rally Point Beloveds.
MIKEL, HAVE A WONDROUS, BEAUTEOUS, AND, SIMPLY PUT: A GLORIOUS DAY! AND, MIKEL, DO ALL OF THE PRECEDING: ON ME!

Work in progress- how I approach my fitness goals and most everything I work on. Small steps over time- it is a marathon not a sprint. When you stop improving- that is when you should worry you are in the wrong place.... great Thursday thoughts COL Mikel J. Burroughs
