Great timing on this COL Mikel J. Burroughs I just wrote a paper last night- one of the objectives was to talk about your last deployment and what where the challenges- what worked and what didn't. I spoke to the Kosovo State Partnership mission from last year. I identified that anything you say as a US troop is taken as gospel and the challenge to overcome that is by watching what you say. Words are important and my closing statement was be concise and say exactly what you mean. Great reminder today sir about how the words we use can affect others.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - I have to much enlisted in me to watch what I say. One of the hardest lessons as an O. When you are asked- be careful how you say yes or no. The O club has fragile feelings and the truth hurts sometimes. Especially when you are the problem.

SPC Mike Lake, thank you. I was lucky enough to find the right platform that brought me to right brothers at the right time and was pointed in the right direction. I'm Not going to lie and say a quote for the day fixed everything, I'm still going through it one day at a time. But I can also honestly say that without having it happened the way it did I probably wldnt be here today. And a quote for the day is a awesome way to start healing. Especially when it's crafted with wisdom. I look forward to seeing it everyday. And having something positive to think about that day. Thinking about it, I want to be the COL when I grow up..if I can get through what I'm going through and learn how to help others with my life experiences, how awesome wld that be. Sorry for the rant, but I needed this today. It's the platform and people like yourself who make a huge difference to. And I thank you for that. Have a great weekend.
