Personally I am all for this, allows a teacher to engage a threat long before an RSO or LEO arrive on the scene. One concern is the storage location of said firearm? Perhaps a biometric safe in a desk drawer to allow quick access by the owner as opposed to a student getting access to the firearm. One thing for sure, the teachers need to undergo training, reacting in the heat of the moment and knowing who the threat is and where it is coming from.
Hopefully they will never have to use it but always better safe than sorry.

If properly trained wonderful Idea. A teacher is right on the scene where a school officer has more than one school to look after. also he has other priorities such a accident, rabies mommy and daddy not getting alone he can't be there all the time. Also the principle in most school is right at the front door.

I can certainly understand both sides of the armed teacher debate.
My question is what happened to society? I'm officially an old fart. I grew up in Texas and remember pickups in the high school parking lot with rifles and or shotguns in a rack on the back window. We had most of the problems/issues that I hear people complain about today. Bullies were there then and still here today. When there was a serious disagreement, we met afterschool behind the gym and fought with bare knuckles. I'll tell you I won some and lost some but even when I lost or was bullied I never thought of using a weapon of any sort to even the score. What has happened or where did we go wrong?
