As training for one of my military assignments I met with a panel of criminal profilers; and psychiatrists and psychologists who study criminal behavior. I then interviewed career criminals for over 40 hours. I was there to learn how "super predators" choose their targets and develop their strategies. The intent was for me to learn to think like "super predators" so that I assessed targets like they do. It was a chilling experience. To this day, almost thirty years later, I still assess my environment non-stop. To the best of my ability I've passed those skills on to my wife, daughter and Grandchildren.

There was a strong belief among the panel that there were commonalities in thought patterns, strategy development, and inability to empathize between "super predators". I believe that the people who are prone to radicalization and are capable of direct action or direct support share those commonalities.
