I've always felt that Descartes was the original navel gazer. "I think, therefore I am," is incredibly self absorbed (the universe exists because I am here to think about it). "I am, therefore am able to think," seems a much more useful context to base ones philosophic view on. On the other hand, like myself, Descartes was by trade a military engineer so perhaps he knew what he was talking about after all.

Cpl Vic Burk - Roger. I'm looking at it from the perspective of nine years as a special ed teacher working with high school kids that were in math classes while being 4 or more years below grade level in the subject.

1SG Steven Imerman - They don't like having kids in special ed these days. I have to fight them tooth and nail to get students into these classes. When they can't solve a one step equation in ninth grade I wonder why they have not been referred for special education testing already. I understand the theory behind full inclusion but there are times when it is not going to work, period, end of sentence. The kid is the one that suffers.

Cpl Vic Burk - Political correctness strikes again. After all, it isn't the kid of the middle class liberal who is suffering, is it?
