SGT (Join to see) It was enough to deter Japan, and they were not deterred by much once they started their Pacific expansion.

This has been a recent contentious point within my shrinking circle of friends these last, let's say three years.
No matter how someone tries to hide it or sugar coat it, the primary purpose of a gun is to fight and that does include lawful self defense with deadly force. The main purpose for a standing military is to win wars, which primarily means killing people. I still raised my right hand at the Indianapolis MEPS knowing this fact and I instill that in my soldiers. The same thing applies to legal citizens of our great nation, to legally own and the right to bear arms. It scares some people to speak that truth, but I want to protect and defend my family and myself like I serve to protect and defend the Constitution and my country. Even the FBI statistics state (https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2014/crime-in-the-u.s.-2014/tables/expanded-homicide-data/expanded_homicide_data_table_8_murder_victims_by_weapon_2010-2014.xls) that hands and feet are more deadly in 2014 than rifles, shot guns and other none pistol firearms combined. Why I hate this talk about those fake "assault weapon" ban. Can't even find a single YouTube video explaining what the definition of an "assault weapon" is.
