I think the abandoned schools, hospitals, castles, etc. are fascinating .... until it gets dark outside! LOL

It is a sign of the times. People vote with their feet and move elsewhere leaving the infrastructure there empty. These buildings are, in many cases, great pieces of architecture and you would hope they could repurpose them for either apartments, or business centers etc. I don't think they will ever be schools again, there are not that many people living around them to make that work.

The company I worked for refurbished an abandoned school house in Indianola PA and used it for office space.
