What does MHC. Military Healing Center stand for:
MILITARY - primary market segment but also includes all personnel that work in high risk zones including law enforcement.
HEALING - primary objective of training and resources created by MHC leading to optimized performance and health.
CENTER - accessible in cyberspace to everyone, not a brick and mortar location but a concept - alignment, transitioning, transformation...
The Military Healing Center is a training company established in 2009 in Ontario, Canada. Initially a repository of information specific to Post Traumatic Stress and its effects on security professionals, MHC grew to be a forward-thinking research based platform where ongoing analysis of current methodology and training approaches were reviewed and improved. In 2010 further education and advocacy was added to the company profile through national level events to support military and emergency response personnel. In 2010 the first element of the MHC training platform was created and field tested which became the foundation of the current training approach. The training platform created by MHC was been piloted in Canada in 2010, the United Kingdom in 2014 and the United States in 2015. This proven 360 degree, multi-domain training platform i s now being delivered in an online virtual version in 2016.
MHC is the creation of CEO, Angela C. Benedict.
Ms. Benedict is an author and advocate and blends almost two decades of training experience with her specialist knowledge of trauma and recovery. She holds degrees in Education, History, Indigenous Studies, Emergency and Disaster Management and is an advocate for security personnel well being across sectors. Her specialized knowledge includes; anxiety recovery, mindfulness, empowerment and transitioning, gap analysis, process improvement and project management, innovative training and implementation. She is recognized as a leader in the security industry.

Hi All!
Thank you to Col. Burroughs for this post. To be clear, MHC offers pre-emptive, pre-deployment oriented training to active personnel as a focus. Dealing with the Veterans Crisis needs to begin at the recruitment level. Personnel need to know the skill sets they need to have and integrate those into their daily routines so that they don't end up in elevated anxiety states such as PTSD. Historically, emphasis has been placed on waiting until there is a problem then using a treatment based approach to put that person 'back together again'. The strategy I have always advocated for is front loaded TRAINING done successfully resulting in personnel not needing to rely on treatment options.
