The first large, controlled study of health disparities between clinically diagnosed transgender and non-transgender patients--based on the medical records of more than 5,000 patients treated in the Veterans Health Administration--showed that transgender veterans had a significantly greater prevalence of numerous psychiatric and medical conditions. The specific disorders examined and the implications of the study findings are discussed in detail in an article published in LGBT Health, a peer-reviewed journal from Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers. The article is available free to download on the LGBT Health website until February 6, 2016.

Why does this matter? African Americans are more likely statistically to get diabetes and die prematurely. Caucasians are much more likely to get skin cancer. White Males are the most likely group to be pedophiles. These are all statistics that mean absolutely nothing to the individual person. When you look at someone you should judge that person based on them -not some bullshit study.

Sgt Gus Laskaris i understand - there wasn't actually much to the article. But in the article there was a link to the actual study results that described in detail their methodolgy, etc. but that probably wasn't interesting for people not into scientific studies, and it's not an easy read. But I see you are used to that stuff. If you wade through it I thought there are interesting aspects to it.

Compare this to research that distinguishes the various subgroups "included" under the weaselly umbrella term transgender and its junk science.
The VA makes no effort to segregate research participants into distinguishable groups. In fact transgender is deliberately blur the lines between who and what and why
Not a single VA has ever asked me if I was okay with being labelled transgender and associated with the gay community. I see it as a major violation of my patient/client rights to self-autonomy and legal rights conferred to me through a legal change of sex.
You can do some easy googling and see the VA is conducting an illegal human experiment on transsexual vets by reading their hormone guidelines.

Something you have not heard about is how many patients like have complained to the VA about its transgender and LGBT policy. We are ignored and many of us have left the VA and either gone elsewhere for medical treatment or no longer see any medical providers
