Treaty of Alliance was signed February 6, 1778 in Paris between the United States & France which was then ruled by the Bourbon dynasty. This treaty contributed mightily to the eventual independence of the US but actually weakened the ancient regime of France which during the next decade descended into anarchy & revolution which eventually brought up Napoleon.
