Rode Flying Tiger Airlines in 72, Travis Calf to Korea. Only GI's were on the plane, everyone was smoking, every seat had an ash tray.
The stewardess had a hard time with all the GI's, because they wore mini skirts. Lol

@Cpl Scott my trip overseas was on the USS Mitchell. Took two weeks, and we were hit with a huge storm. Almost all the troops were incredibly sick. Fun times.

PO3 Bob McCord - Sounds very familiar. We stop at Naha, Okinawa. Then on to Korea. The storm caused havoc. We had to stay down below in our bunk areas, and the sick guys were heaving constantly. There was yuk flowing down the isles. Then there was the fun of trying to go to the bathroom. First of all you had to wade through the goo on the floor, and then try to sit on the pot that was throwing waste and water up through it constantly. You were soaked with every horrible thing imagninal. The good ole days.

I never flew with them, but I loved their commercials as a kid, as I was a big fan of those other Flying Tigers, i.e. Gen. Claire Channault's American Volunteer Group fighter pilots of WWII with their famous shark mouth-painted P-40s.

Capt Christian D. Orr I flew on them for my first trip to Okinawa. Not to much to mention other than we could still smoke on board.

Commercial airlines should have a cigar lounge on-board--at least for the 1st Class pax. ;-)
