As a teacher, I would like to see more veterans in the classroom. This website may help those who would like to teach after their service. The website shows alternate ways to get certification by state as well as ways for those that are active duty prepare for the future.
Out of more than 120 at my current school, only five teachers are vets. We also have a Korean War vet who works as a substitute, and he is amazing with the students. Veterans have character and knowledge that is invaluable in this profession.

Already on top of it. Math is taking a chunk out of me but at least I can bond with my future student about it

Good luck SSG Michael Hartsfield. I met my math requirement by taking a one week elementary ed math course for five days straight. Math is definitely my weak point and I dreaded being called on in class! I did learn a lot in that class on teaching math. Good thing I never had to use it! LOL

Thought about it years ago, but I'm a disciplinarian, and there would have been a lot of kids heading to the principal, before I had them in the front leaning rest position.
