Didn’t know we were eliminating immigration or ever have. As for immigrating food, recipes work pretty well.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Most of those cultures came before social welfare was in place, back before strict hiring laws, and they learned to survive without a government check or free healthcare at your nearest ER. Financially back then, they helped the country. Today, eventually it will bankrupt the US.

MAJ Byron Oyler Largely true but need to remember that most of the things you mentioned came about due to abuses to workers, elderly etc.

Are you saying people who have voluntarily traveled OCONUS have never brought a new flavor back with them? I've been to several ethnic restaurants that were owned by people that didn't match the cuisine. And I've seen American brands that send chefs across the world to sample foods to bring to the US. That statement is pretty bold or just click bait.

Not bold or click bait. I came home from Vietnam war with a taste for all kinds of food from the region but certainly couldn't go to restaurants to get them in mainstream America in the 70s. Wasn't until the influx if immigrants after the war that Vietnamese and Thai restaurants became common. Same with Turkish food and most other ethnic food restaurants, if those immigrants hadn't come here and needed to support families you wouldn't see restaurants selling those foods. Once a type of food becomes popular the restaurant people matching the cuisine is meaningless, restaurateurs open businesses where the market and money is, but immigrants created that market in the first place.

...and they all came through the front door. Some waited years and there were a lot during the early days of migration who were turned away at Ellis Island. We don't oppose immigration, we oppose illegal entry and we oppose democrats who believe those illegal aliens are the next democrat voting block.

I knew a retired Navy sailor who married a Spanish national who went to China for culinary school to bring Chinese cuisine to Spain. We have borders and immigration laws for a reason. I don't understand why some fight so hard against the laws that are currently codified. The laws may suck, but CONGRESS isn't doing their damned job, which is why obama's DACA EO which actually violated separation of powers. Did you condemn him or do you just hate trump?
