How?

Tribal sovereignty refers to tribes' right to govern themselves, define their own membership, manage tribal property, and regulate tribal business and domestic relations; it further recognizes the existence of a government-to-government relationship between such tribes and the federal government.

I am a Shoshone Bannock Tribal Member. This could be one, the other, or a little of both. It would be exploitation if Reservations are diminished much like they were during the Dawes act. Liken it to a land being sold to China and now it is under Chinese law. Economic Growth could happen as you get the bureaucratic BIA out of there and Indian Gaming could flourish without the heavily regulated NIGC and State interfering, this would not be exploitation if reservation lines are not diminished. It most likely would be both.

SGT (Join to see) This debate should begin with federal lands being privatized and not tribal lands. With that I am against Federal Lands being privatized for the simple fact that many of these lands should be Tribal lands. As they remain federal they still belong to all of us. Tribal Lands should be off the table and remain in the control of the Tribes. They are held in trust by the feds so we can operate them the way the tribes will.
