Won't the military will need some of this money to fund all logistics through alternate (longer) routes to the north of Afghanistan, and flying in equipment? I would imagine it costs more. With the difference, infrastructure would be a good place to use it.

Sgt Wayne Wood - Since we got in in 2001, I don't buy that one. And now we have upped the ante with more troops. By the way, did you see the movie "War Machine"? Interesting take.

Don’t go to many movies anymore. And yes, we did go in in 2001... perhaps you’ve forgotten 9/11

Sgt Wayne Wood - I will never forget 9/11 as I was sitting 25 feet from point of impact in the Pentagon and the plane went under my butt (and the people directly under me and the next office over were just gone with no trace). Not sure why you mentioned it. I saw the movie on DVD. It's a fictional account/satire of the war, with generals who were in charge thinly disguised. But it's adapted from a non-fiction account, I believe.

Since it's obvious Congress will never actually reduce the amount of money the Federal Government spends, we should put any reduction in spending in the foreign aid accounts into something that benefits Americans. Infrastructure is a good idea as long as it doesn't become a give away to big unions and Trump supporters--using the Obama model.

Good luck with that... the states needing the most infrastructure work are union whores

How would you propose to spend it on infrastructure, yet make sure unions don't get it?
