What Trump is playing off of is a real issue. What do we need to do to protect life in a pandemic vs. the need for us to live life (if that distinction makes sense). It is fair to say we need a balanced response to this that takes those two items into account.
I also think it is far to say that there are people who don't have a good grasp on how deadly this is (either by over or underestimating the danger) and so they are not good at weighing the tradeoffs.

SPC Kevin Ford, I understand almost all of the prevention measures now in place are temporary. Life will eventually mostly return to normal, although I sincerely hope Congress passes and the President signs universal paid sick leave and people change their habits to prevent infecting others when sick. That means don’t go to the golf course or anywhere other than to a medical care provider when sick and wear a face covering and distance yourself from others until after fully recovered.

SFC Herve Abrams - Some of the measures I consider no braininers, that is to say that take very little effort and do very little disruption. That's why I can't figure out the opposition to face masks. It takes almost no effort and doesn't really impact our day to day life for most activities.

Golf is a very interesting and professional gentleman's sport, which has a built-in Covid-19 deterrence system; social distancing. In fact, golf is a daily exercise for several dozens of retirees and in their games, none travel closer than six feet of each other. I love my Golf, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel.
