Sgt Wayne Wood Beats me. Easier investigation? Small fish? Fewer people involved? Lesser impact? Not like the charges were dropped. Following up on daily updates on this case would be like watching paint dry, IMO.

I think what keeps the Russian story relevant is Trump's reaction to it. The more he talks about it, the more worried he looks. People should just let the investigation take its course. Even without collusion, isn't it his responsibility to investigate all crime as he finds it?

And it's not the WaPo writer who suggested possible discrimination, it's what the lawmakers said. The writer is just sharing what they said. I don't see how that's biased or irrelevant.
