Hmm. Let me address this issue. The United States currently has the cleanest air and water in the world. But that is going to continue. If people do what they have been doing that will not change. The standards are not changing. Some which actually hurt so individuals lives. The EPA as a whole has been granted to much power and needs to have the reins pulled in. No one has said anything about rewriting standards.

The EPA of late is more about government control over citizens than clean air and water. The insinuation from those on the left is that somehow conservatives all want dirty water and air because we do not support an unchecked EPA. The fact that they will say that demonstrates how far gone they are.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Well Michael you insinuated with your very touching quote that this EO might lead to some very drastic things such as no trees, no fish and dirty water. Perhaps you didn't read the lead in to the article. Her it is:
"President Trump will sign an executive order Tuesday scrapping a controversial Environmental Protection Agency rule that expanded the agency's jurisdiction over the nation's waterways during the second term of former President Obama.
The regulation, known as the Waters of the U.S. rule, broadened the definition of the type of water body that would fall under EPA's formidable clean water enforcement powers, making everything from streams to ditches and watering holes subject to the EPA's and Army Corps of Engineers' oversight."
Since this only into effect less than 5 years ago how is it that this is going to lead to the calamity you seem to believe is going to occur. We survived over 200 years without this policy but somehow stopping it will deliver massive calamity.
Since you made the accusation why don't you tell us how reversing this policy will have any negative effect on clean water or air or trees and fish for that matter. I will wait patiently,.

Cpl Jeff N. - Aren't we the touchy one today? Obviously, you don't seem to remember why the EPA in the first place nor seem understand that while this may seem innocuous to you, this amounts to a death by a thousand cuts. Sure, you don't see it and choose not to. That's your right BUT for everyone else that is paying attention, this one of the many steps this administration is doing to gut many of the programs we take for granted but will miss when it's gone, hence why I posted that quote.
You happy? If not, I have all the time I want to fence with you, my being retired and all that.

This is just the first volley in the gutting of the EPA. I still remember how the air looked in the L.A. basin before the EPA came along. You are not supposed to be able to see the air.......you could cut that air with a knife. A little tweaking might be ok......but they're not talking about tweaking.....their talking about gutting it like a fish. Not good.......

Again the Clean Air Act is a law no rule of presidential actions can overrule a law, that is why we have the balance of power. SCOTUS decides if the law violates the constitution then the Executive Branch is charged with upholding the law.

No offense, but I could care less about anything that happens in LA. I am still hoping CA leaves the union.

SGT William Howell - LA wasn't the only place with dirty air......I just used it as an example because I had first hand knowledge of it. And if California actually left the union, that would be a lot of tax money not going to the rest of you......California is one of those that pays in more than it gets back. What about your state? Do you live in a "taker" state?
