Wait. So this individual is not being fired, her nomination to a different job in a nominative position is being withdrawn. JUST A LITTLE MISLEADING.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Not really. When I was nominated for acting Sergeant Major, I did the job to the best of my ability. Yet, when a permanent replacement was found, I went back to my old job. Was I fired?
Likewise, this person will simply cycle back within the SES to another position, like senior government people do ALL THE TIME.
When (if) she is thrown out of government entirely or at a lower SES level, we can talk.

1SG (Join to see) - Did she have a job to fall back on? She has been acting Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) since July 2019 since she was the deputy. Is she simply going to fall back into that position?
There are also conflicting reports that this is true.

Capt Gregory Prickett - More likely she was detailed from SES pending confirmation.
I get it, the vultures are out in force looking for Trump retribution.
But the way I see it, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
If you are thinking that what your leaders are doing is wrong, the correct answer is to resign, not undermine their directives.

Capt Gregory Prickett - That was a broader statement, not specific to this situation. Except that I think the media will try to ascribe motive to every administration departure that is tangentially related to last month's gong show.
