As with all things, the devil is in the details.

While both may have wanted infrastructure improvement, the scope and the stated means to fund it may be different enough for it to go through.

No way to know until it happens.

It was easy to block Obama. Simply announcing that the infrastructure needs repair is not enough. You have to show the cost/benefit analysis and sell the project. You also have to show where the funding is available. Sadly, our fearless leaders in Washington have spent all the money there is and all the credit they could muster, on Quixotic adventures in social reform at home and abroad. We can't fund major projects by simply printing money. We need to create new wealth. Hopefully, Donald will have a viable plan for doing that as well as the leadership to sell his plan to the people.

CPT Jack Durish - OK sir, I was 6 when JFK was president and studied MLK, JFK and Stephenson in public speaking. Yes I've seen Mr Obama speak without a teleprompter and without notes during press conferences at the White House. Churchill, Regan and Mandela were in the list of greats with MLK and JFK.

SFC Donald Lemay - Excellent additions. I've been consuming everything Churchill these days. I spent the past year reading his biography (7 volumes all large). Before that I read several of his histories and am getting ready to read his History of the English Speaking People. Yes, I'm nuts. BTW, there are an incredible number of these events whereat President Obama became tongue tied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulDv-hs5unI

CPT Jack Durish - very few people can make me laugh as hard as I just did. I was wrong about saying he was a skillful orator and should have promptly admitted it. But then again, I wouldn't have laughed this hard, if I did.

CPT Jack Durish - Would you be willing to post a review (brief) of his "A History of the English Speaking Peoples." It sounds like something I would be interested in reading.
