You seem to be ignoring the fact that Trump isn't breaking any records for nominating: "Army vet, West Point graduate, and founder of Combating Terrorism Center at West Point picked to lead Army." Trump is nominating a record number of Billionaires, that may be a good thing or it may wind up being a bad thing... however pretending the media is biased because it noticed this trend is silly.

1SG(P) (Join to see) - If you believe PO1 Don Gulizia made a "fair criticism of the title" then yes, it appears you do.

I'm as concerned by DJT's appointments as anybody. That doesn't mean that sole criticism doesn't have some validity. I think you can look elsewhere on RP and see I'm quite skeptical of DJT. I merely agree this headline could include some different facts which would provide a different perspective.

I expect such titles from WaPo or NYT, but not necessarily from Military Times. After Obama's adminstration had so few vets, you would think Military Times would highlight the military connection of some of these picks...but I'm just silly that way.

Marcus Aurelius once said: "Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." You shouldn't expect any media organization to provide you with the "truth" only a perspective. Given the number of Trump nominees that are Billionaires and the fact that you don't seem to appreciate it being pointed out... I can't help but wonder why it bothers you? I'm one of the most liberal posters on this site and I don't think being a billionaire is a bad thing.

Another way the media, and disappointingly Military Times, tries to influence public opinion with article titles. They very easily, and just as truthfully, could have led with "Army vet, West Point graduate, and founder of Combating Terrorism Center at West Point picked to lead Army." The fact that he's a "first generation" American, whose father was a truck driver, that made a fortune should be celebrated. Instead, his title of "billionaire" will be used by the left in an attempt to discredit him and the PE. I just hope that the PE picks someone, just as capable, to lead the Navy. (They've got a lot of fixin' to do.)

That's a fair criticism of the title.

Really solid pick, West Point grad, very successful, doesn't need the paycheck. It's hard to believe you can get a guy like this to accept the job.
