Damn - exchange rate for yen must be around 88 to a dollar. It was near 300 in 70's and seems about 200 ish in mid 90's. $10.54 for a burger ain't cheap, but Tokyo's pretty expensive overall.

That's what happens when they print too much cash. The Quantitative Easing (QE) under Obama prolonged the agony and made things look rosy, but greatly devalued our $. I can't remember exactly but one time when I was there the married folks were making a killing off the COLA due to exchange rate. Seems some were getting close to a grand a month. It fluctuated based on exchange but many were homesteading over there.
