I just hope the Republicans remember this the next time a Democrat becomes president. Republicans are like herding cats and Democrats march in lock better than most precision drill teams.

MCPO Roger Collins Regardless of party, when a party doesn't have the butts in seats to effect a real debate on a nominee, this is the only avenue they have left for blocking a nominee that they deem undesirable. I disagree about the Democrats marching in lock. If they did we would be talking about President Hillary Clinton's first hundred days in office. The Democrats lost the electoral election because they took for granted that democrats in the rust belt and dairy lands would come out and support their candidate. They learned a hard lesson about making sure that their candidates don't take that for granted.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - All I ask is reasonable debate and a vote, just like with Obama's picks. This massive obstruction is creating a dangerous situation to our national security.

MCPO Roger Collins - sadly that is typical politics. I wish we had a few elected officials left who would remember that they were elected to represent us, and not their party. I agree that when a candidate is qualified for the job, obstructing their confirmation is dangerous. In this case as you said to National Security. In other cases to our economy, infrastructure, safety, and general well being.

Well its hardly surprising. After all, the Donald is not a politician. He's a businessman. So most of his picks/friends are going to be businessmen/women who are going to have tons of business dealings and comings and goings to investigate and be looked at and they may not/obviously don't want that.

So no, this isn't a surprise.
