You can get the viewpoints of junior ranking servicemembers but they don't have any idea what's going on above their pay grade either. You need to talk to all levels as POTUS if you're going to get insight from the military. Not just one level over the other.

Above the rank of 03 - it is more politics than tactics. The guys that pull the patrols, stand the watches, repair the equipment, treat the wounded and fly the missions are the ones that are nothing but faceless cogs'; assets to be used, moved around the chess board but are rarely heard from.
