So what I'm seeing here is this; you seem to be agreeing that we should rely on foreign suppliers for solar panels that are needed to make the US energy independent.
The very idea that we would have to buy from out of the country, the parts needed to make solar panels work, is the EXACT same thing as buying oil from other countries. There is NO difference whatsoever. If we can build it here, WHY would we go outside to get it?!

US solar cell production is heavily subsidized, mainly from promises made by Pres. Obama. So, is overseas manufacturing. Without forced public funding, solar energy is not economically competitive except for limited applications. Need to stop fantasizing about living off the grid with solar power.
