"She probably has Security Clearance that has been updated. " - What does this even mean? Updated to what? Also having a security clearance doesn't really mean anything. They were handing them out like candy for years which is why they're auditing all of them to see who really needs one and who doesn't.
Now on her comments - quite the stretch. Cancel culture isn't real - not the way people throw it around. All "cancel culture" is now is something that people in power throw out there when they face consequences for their actions or receive any type of criticism. People in power aren't used to having to face any consequences so when they are held accountable for things they say or do, they wanna cry and play the victim.
Since the creation of social media, people who used to be marginalized can express themselves unlike ever before - and that means not allowing bigoted behavior or sexism, racism, etc to not be tolerated like they used to be. People who have been used to having some type of privilege can't handle the culture shift so they cry "CaNcEl CuLtUrE!" This is how they delegitimize the criticism they receive.
Also cancel culture isn't real because you can't "cancel" a person. Have you ever heard anyone in your adult life say "We can't work with that person, I'm afraid they've been officially and formally cancelled." No. That never happens. All "cancelling" someone consists of is boycotting that person or that business or that organization that you disagree with.
There really hasn't been anyone "cancelled" - name one person cancelled recently since the term "cancel culture" became a thing. One person who never worked again, never had a platform again, cut off from all of society, erased from existence.
I really have no clue what Gabbard's point is in this and the article is extremely short and lacking any context. I don't know how she got from people criticizing someone's horrible behavior to ISIS and beheading.
