Most recent updates to this story say base surrounded, movement restricted, running on generators, no fly zone imposed around base.
If that condition lasts beyond tomorrow then what? Will we attempt a re supply? An evacuation? Will our assets fly out? Is this a siege? Surrender and captivity? Assets siezed? Or a big nothing, happens all the time?

Wasn't it 03' when our troops sat on Amphibs in the Black Sea waiting to land and cross Turkey into Iraq? Turkey denied the access at the last minute. The northern pincer was eliminated from the plan. Cost lives?

The base itself is a point of contention. I think we always have to consider our positions as tenuous. This seemingly stable government was close to collapse just last night.
What happens in Khandahar if we wake up tomorrow and find a Taliban in charge again?
Certainly Mr Erdrogan could play that card and intern our people or restrict their movement under the auspices of Internal Security. He could demand we leave too. Hopefully we always have an Evacuation plan everywhere our people are.
Mr Gulen might want to relocate to say, Canada soon. Safer then being in the USA right now.
