Boy that would cause me great concern. So we basically gave them a talking down and have not solved the larger issue of who is going to protect the Kurds in the future. This region is such a powder keg. Not a new issue, just always evolving into something worse. Should we be everyone's keeper. Before thinking of an answer- remember we will be there to clean it up later as well- so we need to figure this out quickly.

If I could king for a day I would take the northern third of Iraq and Syria and make it a Kurdish state. Then I would place a military base or two there and get ride of our bases in Turkey and Iraq. The Kurds like us a lot more than others in the region.
