There are 2 new variants of the Sars CoV 2 virus recently detected. One makes it more transmissible and another has the potential to make the current vaccines worthless. Given the continued spread additional mutations will continue to be found. Heaven help us if a mutation becomes more transmissible, impervious to the vaccines and more deadly. I believe the door to getting a handle on this virus has closed. The more it spreads the greater the chance more mutatations will occur. Increased transmissablity ensures that.
