The First I Heard it was the Ground Crew got Hit by an Aircraft and my first thought that what the Hell, How the Hell did a Plane Hit someone on the Ground. It's the Bloody Air Force not an Aircraft Carrier. Then I Heard Live Fire and I was wondering if they were doing Static Testing of the Weapons System. Not until the Last Article did I realize it was the Ground Controllers. Someone Really wasn't in the Game for the Pre-Training Safety Brief.

Sounds like miscommunications on range status. More than likely the folks on the ground weren't where they were supposed to be. It happens!

Like Our Controllers for NGFS Navy Gun Fire Support at San Clemente Island on that Bldg on the Top of the Mountain/Island. Guys had a Lot of Faith in the System considering the Serious Equipment Malfunctions I've Seen There.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Ya, sad but training accidents happen in all services. Accident investigation folks will work it out and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. That often doesn't result in heads rolling, just depends on findings.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Actually those that Survive the IG Purge will make the Best Advocates for Strict Adherence to Safety Procedures. Good Point!

My Guess the Pilot's Career is Toast, The Range Safety Officer's Career is Toast and if the Air Force is anything like the Navy, The Commanding Officer's Career is Toast.
