The rush to release prisoners from Guantanamo never made any sense to me. If you aren't going to close the thing, might as well keep them locked up securely until such time as you figure out what to do with them. Shipping them off to other countries feels like a cop out.

Having said that, they should have held the tribunals for them by now. Holding them for years only to release them to the custody of another country or freeing them altogether seems stupid. to me.

Unfortunately, GITMO was an afterthought. The GOP blocked any efforts to move the detainees stateside so they could have their due process/tribunals. So our government created this problem which left only 1 conclusion - to release them to a country that would take them. There are programs in place to track them but - they're going to be a little salty and probably want revenge of some sort.

PO1 Rodney Bracey - My preference would have been to take the bastards to one of those islands out in the Pacific that we own. Plenty of them are unpopulated. Let them build a caliphate on Giligan's Island.

It's simple. Obama values the lives of terrorists more than he values the lives of Americans who didn't vote for the Globalist candidate he endorsed. He just was giving America the middle finger on the way out. I just hope that they reopen investigations into Obama's fraud and Hillary's corruption. It doesn't come close to undoing all the damage they did and it can't get back the lives lost to their treason, but for most who saw through Obama's charade, it will bring closure.
