On one hand, flying cars would be awesome. On the other hand, I see how well we drive in two dimensions. I can only imagine the death-toll if we drove in three!

I disagree. Uber's vision has been for self-driving vehicles. The collision risk with automated systems is greatly reduced by the third dimension. With human drivers, I see your point. That's why only a relatively few of us are pilots.
